Firsts for Jester


Jester went for his first swim yesterday...we took him for a walk yesterday morning to the dog park...there were no other dogs there (Yeah!) and he played around for awhile chasing the birds and just sniffing and playing... we found a tennis ball there to play with...he is finally getting better at bringing it back...then as we were leaving we decided to take him to the river's edge and give him a swim...he walked in the water but wouldn't go far enough out to swim....so A picked him up and threw him out where he couldn't touch!! He swam around for a bit and loved it!! Then A had to take off his shoes and socks and go and get Jester cause he went too far along the river where we couldn't get him and he wouldn't come!!! A not happy!! Then we put the lead on him so that we could pull him back in if he went too far...I think we'll take a rope down next time to tie to his lead so he can swim out further!

First for me yesterday also...had to pick up Jester's poo while we were walking...YUCK!!!!.... A wouldn't do it!! His turn next time!!

{3rd Birthday} Octonauts party

It has been a week two weeks since Aden's Octonauts party and I think I have recovered enough to post about it. Special thanks to my sister for gabbing my camera and my MIL and SIL for their cameras, as I didn't take any all day! Aden is a massive Octonauts fan! So when he didn't go for my initial plan of a 'Monsters' Party ( too scary Mummy!) we decided on Octonauts. I did a lot of Internet searching and looking at a lot of Pintrest posts to gather all my ideas together.  There was lots of party food including Octonaut Cupcakes. Cake toppers from Ebay  And a Kwazii cake as requested by the birthday boy! I totally forgot to put on the Octopus I had for his hat!! We also had yellow/green/blue jelly cups with turtles in them and smarties cookies. As well as regular party food and hot finger food for the adults. Mummy wiping Aden's face before having cake photos! We had balloons, a birthday banner and streamers.

Amy is hosting a Quilt Festival! You get to see so many beautiful quilts all in the one place in the comfort of your own home...or work desk as the case may be! All you have to do is share a quilt you have made! I'm going to share this quilt.... from a pattern yes but I loved making it! Choosing the fabrics was fun...playing with colours mixing them up...changing my mind...I tried to be true to life but it ws hard with the bright fabrics... I had a border dilema that was fixed by some helpful friends! Progress pic... All the animals finished Of course it helps to love a quilt when your making it for a very special little girl! I'm keen to make this one again...just to play with the fabrics!!
