ARRGGGHHHHH!!


This is what I have spent all weekend working on!! I know it is early now...that's cause I was still working on it!! Had to get up this morning and finish off pinning the last little bit so that I could move it off the ironing board for DH.

I not overly happy with it...There are some major errors!! I will never add to an already quilted quilt ever again....only that Mum asked is the reason for doing it! and I know how she likes to have things right....well never again...I'll make a whole new quilt!!I had only just enough material that I bought extra and still have none left over for pillowcases....yes that is the next piece of the saga....matching pillows....large square ones...and no pattern to follow...I will have to make something up....

I was debating whether to take it back to the professional quilter to finishing of quilting the extra borders....but I'm too embarrassed by the all the wonkyness..so I will have to do it my self....thank goodness it will only be on the edges for my poor machine wouldn't handle it! And it will be all straight stitching!!

Oh AJ, I feel your ARGGGGG! You are a brave woman though to attempt it and succeed though as I wouldn't have! So job well done I say! :)

{3rd Birthday} Octonauts party

It has been a week two weeks since Aden's Octonauts party and I think I have recovered enough to post about it. Special thanks to my sister for gabbing my camera and my MIL and SIL for their cameras, as I didn't take any all day! Aden is a massive Octonauts fan! So when he didn't go for my initial plan of a 'Monsters' Party ( too scary Mummy!) we decided on Octonauts. I did a lot of Internet searching and looking at a lot of Pintrest posts to gather all my ideas together.  There was lots of party food including Octonaut Cupcakes. Cake toppers from Ebay  And a Kwazii cake as requested by the birthday boy! I totally forgot to put on the Octopus I had for his hat!! We also had yellow/green/blue jelly cups with turtles in them and smarties cookies. As well as regular party food and hot finger food for the adults. Mummy wiping Aden's face before having cake photos! We had balloons, a birthday banner and streamers.

All you have to do is share a quilt you have made! I'm going to share this quilt.... from a pattern yes but I loved making it! Choosing the fabrics was fun...playing with colours mixing them up...changing my mind...I tried to be true to life but it ws hard with the bright fabrics... I had a border dilema that was fixed by some helpful friends! Progress pic... All the animals finished Of course it helps to love a quilt when your making it for a very special little girl! I'm keen to make this one again...just to play with the fabrics!!
