Quilt Progress

This is the start of my third commissioned quilt! This one is for Samuel...Lots and lots of cutting out but it will hopefully come together quickly! Just need to get some Sponge Bob Square Pants material for the SB marked squares in the pattern and also cut some white for around the stars and border...after a blade change!!
First cut into stripes and then tiny 2 inch squares! (Taken late at night one day last week)
There is more than enough sqaures here for this quilt but I wanted to have a nice variety of colour....so I've already got some plans for the left over bits!!

I'm up to sandwiching and backing the other two quilts...just waiting to see if Foz has a boy or a girl so I can back one of them in the 'right' colour! I have a georgous puprle I want to use but it won't work if bub is a boy! The other I was going to do in a unisex lovely bright green that I have! I need to start thinking about the quilting for both of them...if it should be the same or not....

Here is it....sorry it is late!! I thought I had another day to go!! What happenend to Tuesday?? To make up for my error I have three sets of fabrics to giveaway...just let me know which one you want! Set 1. {3rd Birthday} Octonauts party

It has been a week two weeks since Aden's Octonauts party and I think I have recovered enough to post about it. Special thanks to my sister for gabbing my camera and my MIL and SIL for their cameras, as I didn't take any all day! Aden is a massive Octonauts fan! So when he didn't go for my initial plan of a 'Monsters' Party ( too scary Mummy!) we decided on Octonauts. I did a lot of Internet searching and looking at a lot of Pintrest posts to gather all my ideas together.  There was lots of party food including Octonaut Cupcakes. Cake toppers from Ebay  And a Kwazii cake as requested by the birthday boy! I totally forgot to put on the Octopus I had for his hat!! We also had yellow/green/blue jelly cups with turtles in them and smarties cookies. As well as regular party food and hot finger food for the adults. Mummy wiping Aden's face before having cake photos! We had balloons, a birthday banner and streamers.

All you have to do is share a quilt you have made! I'm going to share this quilt.... from a pattern yes but I loved making it! Choosing the fabrics was fun...playing with colours mixing them up...changing my mind...I tried to be true to life but it ws hard with the bright fabrics... I had a border dilema that was fixed by some helpful friends! Progress pic... All the animals finished Of course it helps to love a quilt when your making it for a very special little girl! I'm keen to make this one again...just to play with the fabrics!!
