WIP Wednesday

Helen is helping me get my sew-jo back...WIP Wednesdays are going to happen on this blog every week...I hope!

As well as a double batch of pumpkin scones, two loads of washing, various other household tasks and watching after a very active and mischievous 10.5 month old I got some quilting done today while Aden napped!

I finished all the pebble quilting around the caterpillar and butterfly and got almost all the stipple done too! About 20 cms across the top white border to finish...hopefully tonight! Then binding (which is already made and ready to go) on Thursday!

Jonathan and his mummy are waiting patiently for me to finish this quilt and then they can come for a play date to collect it!

Yahhhh! I love how Aden's sleeve matches the stripy fabric!!! Very cool!!

{3rd Birthday} Octonauts party

It has been a week two weeks since Aden's Octonauts party and I think I have recovered enough to post about it. Special thanks to my sister for gabbing my camera and my MIL and SIL for their cameras, as I didn't take any all day! Aden is a massive Octonauts fan! So when he didn't go for my initial plan of a 'Monsters' Party ( too scary Mummy!) we decided on Octonauts. I did a lot of Internet searching and looking at a lot of Pintrest posts to gather all my ideas together.  There was lots of party food including Octonaut Cupcakes. Cake toppers from Ebay  And a Kwazii cake as requested by the birthday boy! I totally forgot to put on the Octopus I had for his hat!! We also had yellow/green/blue jelly cups with turtles in them and smarties cookies. As well as regular party food and hot finger food for the adults. Mummy wiping Aden's face before having cake photos! We had balloons, a birthday banner and streamers.

All you have to do is share a quilt you have made! I'm going to share this quilt.... from a pattern yes but I loved making it! Choosing the fabrics was fun...playing with colours mixing them up...changing my mind...I tried to be true to life but it ws hard with the bright fabrics... I had a border dilema that was fixed by some helpful friends! Progress pic... All the animals finished Of course it helps to love a quilt when your making it for a very special little girl! I'm keen to make this one again...just to play with the fabrics!!
