Advent Blog~a~long #15 - Sickness

Not a very cherry Christmas-y post but that is what we have here at the moment. My little boy has his first real 'sickness' - tonsillitis. Poor boy wants nothing more than laying on Mummy and the occasional sip of water. The doctor has given his some Ab's and said he should start to feel better by Friday...fingers crossed he does. The house looks like a bomb has hit and I can't do much as he cries everytime I put him down or move out of his line of sight. He is sleeping now on me now and I think we are in for a long night...like last night!
It really made me think of all the other kids that will be in hospital over Christmas and how hopeless their parents must feel. All they want is for their little ones to get better...my christmas wish for them

He is on the mend thank goodness...much perky-er today...and naughty this afternoon...the medicine must be doing it's work!

Apparently I'm not the only one that does this...and this is the first time I've done it I promise! According to my facebook friends and family this is a great way to contain the clean washing...pile it into the port-a-cot!

{3rd Birthday} Octonauts party

It has been a week two weeks since Aden's Octonauts party and I think I have recovered enough to post about it. Special thanks to my sister for gabbing my camera and my MIL and SIL for their cameras, as I didn't take any all day! Aden is a massive Octonauts fan! So when he didn't go for my initial plan of a 'Monsters' Party ( too scary Mummy!) we decided on Octonauts. I did a lot of Internet searching and looking at a lot of Pintrest posts to gather all my ideas together.  There was lots of party food including Octonaut Cupcakes. Cake toppers from Ebay  And a Kwazii cake as requested by the birthday boy! I totally forgot to put on the Octopus I had for his hat!! We also had yellow/green/blue jelly cups with turtles in them and smarties cookies. As well as regular party food and hot finger food for the adults. Mummy wiping Aden's face before having cake photos! We had balloons, a birthday banner and streamers.

All you have to do is share a quilt you have made! I'm going to share this quilt.... from a pattern yes but I loved making it! Choosing the fabrics was fun...playing with colours mixing them up...changing my mind...I tried to be true to life but it ws hard with the bright fabrics... I had a border dilema that was fixed by some helpful friends! Progress pic... All the animals finished Of course it helps to love a quilt when your making it for a very special little girl! I'm keen to make this one again...just to play with the fabrics!!
